Job description

Sylvamo, a major pulp and paper producer, is seeking its next generation of top Electrical & Instrumentation Technician Assistants for the Eastover, SC Mill.   We are looking for dependable women and men with excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills to fill our challenging positions.

Electrical & Instrumentation CO-OP

 

This  position will assist Journeyman-level E&I Technicians in routine maintenance work as well as performing many duties independently. This will be a temporary position that will be structured to better prepare students for active employment in an industrial environment while earning them College Credit Hours.

Duties for E&I Technicians include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting & repair, conduit & wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting & repair, drive troubleshooting & repair, Instrumentation & control valve calibration, troubleshooting & repair.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Actively Enrolled in an Electrical-Instrumentation Technology curriculum. (or an equivalent, recognized Electrical & Instrumentation Technology Program)
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC, Electric drive, Process Control and Instrumentation, and power distribution systems, Robotics, and Industrial Safety.

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Working experience in a team based environment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, operating in a team environment

 

Base pay is $28.93 per hour, and the anticipated start date would be September 2026
