Job Summary
At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Plant Quality Control Manager, internally titled QFS Process Control Manager based in Dallas, Texas. As a QFS Process Control Manager, you will be a critical strategic partner to Senior Plant Leadership, driving food safety, quality excellence, and regulatory compliance through innovative process management. This role is responsible for ensuring the release of products that meet quality requirements, thereby maintaining the health and satisfaction of our customers. This position will coordinate, plan, and control quality control processes and tests in the Quality Control Department and will partner with production to ensure quality standards are strictly followed. Will ensure that all raw materials and semi-finished products and packaging are properly inspected and ensuring compliance with specifications is confirmed before being released for production. Will also ensure that non-conformances related to quality and food safety are managed according to PNC program.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:
  • Collect all inputs to allow finished product release, ensuring all decisions made regarding the quality status of products, semi-finished products, and raw materials are made independently.
  • Manage finished product release according to predefined requirements (SN specific). Decide on product release in case of process or product deviations based on risk analysis results, additional tests, etc.
  • Ensure all Raws and Packs quality control at delivery. Manage QN with connection to suppliers packaging quality including pack materials validation, developing line standards for packaging and improvement with supplier based on QN
  • Determine the frequency and scope of control for raw materials, materials, semi-finished products, products, packaging and the production environment.
  • Interpret test results and signaling quality non-conformities related to raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products.
  • Ensure raw materials, materials, and semi-finished products are analyzed according to current control plans and released for production if they meet quality requirements.
  • Approve raw material and packaging material specifications.
  • Define acceptance criteria for the above, ensuring compliance with corporate and formal requirements.
  • Establish test schedules for products, semi-finished products, and in-process tests, and participating in establishing test schedules for raw materials and packaging.
  • Manage quality documentation changes for raw materials, materials, and semi-finished products.
  • Coordinate work related to setting test dates for new products (SN Specific).
  • Management of all complaints (consumers and customers and authorities and NGOs) with consumer centric approach, to ensure proper analysis, improvement in place
  • Participate in Crisis Team activities as defined by the QFS Plant Quality Leader.
  • Define and ensure efficient FPQ RTT is implemented on site.
  • Provide data/calculate KPIs defined for Quality Control.
  • Provide clear leadership, coaching and direction to team in alignment with plant and Danone NA objectives and vision.
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; taste and/or smell, talk and hear.
  • Ability to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head.
  • The employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10lbs up to 50lbs and occasional team lifting above 50lbs. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results.
  • The employee is frequently standing on a concrete surface for 2-4 hours at a time during a shift and up to 12 on occasion
  • Occasionally may need to climb stairs, step ladders, stool.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in an office and manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
  • Work schedules could include nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide the ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we're looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:
Education & Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in food science or food technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology or related field, required. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quality role within a food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology manufacturing environment, required.
  • Minimum 3 years leadership/management experience and having delivered tangible results within an integrated management system field.
  • Working experience in a processing & manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Very good knowledge of the applicable quality & food safety management systems (ISO, FS22000, PRP's, HACCP, GMP, etc.) and the application thereof.
  • Strong Business & People Leadership Competencies demonstrated in previous roles.
  • Strong Product Category experience preferred, or high risk, ready to eat product categories.
  • Solid experience in Quality & Food Safety Management Systems
  • Good technical understanding of food science & technology, formulation, processing & equipment
  • Good Knowledge of food and food safety legislation & regulations and food safety issues
  • Digital fluency and data analytics & management, graphs, tables, PowerBI, LIMS system, SAP
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Training skills
