Manufacturing Intern

Container Manufacturing | Internship | Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Americase is a leading manufacturer of industrial containers, supporting customers who depend on rugged, precision-engineered solutions for transporting and protecting critical components. The Manufacturing Intern supports daily manufacturing operations while gaining hands-on experience in production processes, quality standards, safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. This internship provides exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing environment and the opportunity to work alongside experienced production, engineering, and quality professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily production activities to support manufacturing operations.
  • Observe and document manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support process improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production data using spreadsheets and other reporting tools.
  • Assist with quality inspections and ensure products meet established specifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Help maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Support inventory management, material handling, and organization of production areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with CAD software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Previous manufacturing or technical work experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
