A Day in the Life:

In the position of Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for the quality control and food safety programs at the MEC Phoenix manufacturing plant. They lead the facility in all food safety, packaging quality, and product quality related activities. They implement and monitor quality standards, policies, and compliance the site for every stage of the process and manage the quality control activities for daily production.

The Impact You'll Make:
  • Lead the quality team: manages the day-to-day operations for the quality, document control, and batching teams and develops the team's performance and capability.
  • Serve as the primary plant liaison for all company quality control and quality assurance initiatives and third-party audits.
  • Ensure compliance and record keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activities.
  • Track, analyze, and lead root cause analysis for all quality and consumer complaint issues within the plant.
  • Monitor the microbiological program for environmental testing, product testing, sanitation verification to ensure completion and compliance.
  • Perform regular reviews of the facility's Pre-requisite programs, GMP compliance and Sanitation Compliance and perform internal audits.
  • Develop and perform annual training for good manufacturing practices, good documentation practices, and any other site quality expectations. Maintain calibration log and ensure all critical testing equipment remains in compliance
Who You Are:
  • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of in Food Science/Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering or other related field
  • Additional Experience Desired: More than 5 years of experience in similar Quality Manager position in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Computer Skills Desired: Proficiency with standard office software (such as MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Preferred Certifications: HACCP(Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) Certification preferred
