Job Title: Quality Control Managerย - Mesa, Arizona

Job purpose

The QA/QC Manager is responsible for managing the Quality Control Program for projects of all sizes. Responsibilities include; preconstruction preparation, job start participation and ongoing field management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Program Management

Maintain Program (Review trade publications, code changes, update program) Program requirements (Communicate with field personnel, be clear and concise) Support field personnel (Conduct training, promote understanding of POR). "Process of record" Auditing (Conduct job site audits, evaluate program) Reporting (Report to management, provide feedback to field personnel)

Preconstruction Responsibilities

Initial set up (Fillable forms, folder set up, publication updates) Reviews (Specifications, submittals) Collaboration (Estimating, Detailing, Prefab)

Job Start Responsibilities

Kickoff meeting (QA/QC agenda, forms matrix, inspection requirements) Site management (Recommend a site manager, act as site manager until one is assigned) Site management support (Site visits, meetings)

Field Program Management

Educate field personnel (POR training) Field collaboration (Encourage feedback, improve POR) Closeout (Review documentation, verify for accuracy and completion)

Qualifications
  • Electrical background preferred
  • 5 years or more of experience working in the utilities or construction industry
  • Prior experience working in a quality assurance or control position preferred
  • Extensive experience in inspection and testing procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of: National Electric Code (NEC), International Electrical Testing Association standards (NETA), and Arizona Occupational Safety and Health Administration (AZ-OSHA) standards.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu
  • Leadership skills
  • Experience training field personnel
  • Ability to foster a culture of quality in every aspect, with every person, in every environment.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Quality Control Manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The Quality Control Manager is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Office-based, in a temperature-controlled environment. Typical working hours for the QCM are Monday - Friday during normal business hours. Occasional travel to active construction sites in Phoenix and state wide (environment may not be temperature controlled).
