Job description

As a Sr. Process Operator, you will be part of the startup team that will monitor, control and improve the manufacturing process during the initial pilot plant operations followed by the design, construction and startup of the new commercial facility. Your duties will include operating the process control computers, taking field readings, performing equipment inspections and various other tasks required to accomplish the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the facility.  You will also work alongside and assist our maintenance and engineering teams in the upkeep of the facility’s equipment. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow and ensure compliance with all EHS policies and procedures, including lockout, hot work, confined space, elevated work, emergency response and all others.
  • Issue Safe Work Permits for all jobs and tasks according to plant procedures.
  • Operate Process Computers to monitor and control the manufacturing processes.  
  • Operate Process Equipment including pumps, valves, compressors, chillers, boilers.
  • Monitor and record operating conditions of plant equipment.
  • Assist in writing operating procedures.
  • Ensure operating procedures and plant documents are followed and are accurate.
  • Train new employees on the process details and relevant environmental and safety requirements for the operations.
  • Assist in reviewing and approval of new safety and environmental guidelines and procedures.
  • Obtain samples and assist laboratory staff with analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Provide daily feedback on operating conditions and performance of plant equipment.
  • Conduct daily housekeeping inspections and maintain a clean plant at all times.
  • Receive/Load/Unload process chemicals and supplies.
  • Assist in equipment and instrument repairs, calibrations and troubleshooting.
  • Other Duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • A minimum of 20 years plant process experience and/or Process Technology degree/Certification with at least 10 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills in order to develop operating procedures
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations relating to plant operations and hazard chemicals
  • Process Control Computer experience
  • Visible commitment to safety and proven effectiveness in working on teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Current Driver’s license (Class E).


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Candidates must be capable of tolerating outdoor temperatures and weather conditions, working in a noisy environment while wearing PPE, lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders and stairs.  Candidates could be required to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime.  Skyfall Biologicals is a drug free workplace and requires candidates to pass a pre-employment physical that includes a substance abuse screening and periodic substance tests as required.
