Loan Processing Associate

Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the "Best Places to Work" in the North Bay Business Journal, is seeking a Loan Processing Associate to join our Consumer Lending team on-site in Novato, California or Rancho Cordova, California.

The Loan Processing Associate is a support position that works in conjunction with Consumer Loan Officers in processing consumer loan applications in an efficient and timely manner. This position is responsible for following loan lending guidelines, processes and procedures including verifying assets, employment, liabilities, ordering title reports, insurance and loan documents on applications they have been assigned. In addition, this position reviews all data submitted with loan applications to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and then enters the data into the Loan Origination System.

  • Process approved loan applications. May prepare declination letters.
  • Review assigned loan packages to ensure that they are in compliance with current regulatory standards. In addition, keep track of the loan process from initial application to funding on assigned loans.
  • Provide timely communication to the branch on status of assigned loan applications.
  • Order all necessary reports, such as Preliminary Title Report, proof of insurance, and appraisal. Verify that all data is correct.
  • Work in conjunction with approving Loan Officer to obtain necessary information to close the loan in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Coordinate the close of escrows, including review of final loan documents for accuracy, loan funding, etc.
  • Ensure the timely completion of the various workflow steps of the approval process.
  • May assist the department in tracking upcoming renewals or maturities and sending out needs lists to Borrowers as needed.
  • Provide support related to Audit and Regulatory Reviews such as preparing loan files for auditor access and review.
  • Process credit report requests for the consumer department and other departments of the Bank according to procedural guidelines.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 2 - 4 year's relevant banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Educational/Professional Experience:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or training.

The hiring pay range for this position is $24.99 to $33.72. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
