???? Infant Educator

Location: Sylvania Children's Center – Toledo, Ohio
Schedule: Full-Time
Program: NAEYC Accredited | Step Up To Quality Gold Rated

About Sylvania Children's Center

Sylvania Children's Center is entering its 35th year this fall as a NAEYC Accredited, Step Up To Quality Gold Rated program. Quality is the most important thing we do — it creates meaningful outcomes for children, positive experiences for families, and real opportunities for growth on our team. We have a big vision for the next 10 years, and the scale we want to achieve starts and ends with having the best educators in our program.

Who Thrives Here

The educators who thrive at SCC are passionate about early childhood — not because it's a job title, but because they genuinely believe these years shape everything that follows.
They plan with intention — observing children's interests and designing experiences driven by them across every developmental domain. They scaffold as each child grows and pivot when the moment calls for it. They build real, daily partnerships with families — genuine two-way communication that earns trust and invites families into the learning.
They embody NAEYC's standards — creating environments that reflect each child's identity and family, upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct, and tying their growth to our Standards of Excellence: Strong Contributor, Difference Maker, and Above & Beyond.
If that's the educator you are — we want to hear from you.

The Role

The Infant Educator shapes the earliest stage of development — birth through 18 months. This is intentional work: building the warm, secure relationships that make learning possible, designing environments that reflect each infant's identity and family, and supporting developmental milestones through responsive care. You will know each child deeply, communicate daily with families as genuine partners, and hold the standard NAEYC accreditation demands.

Responsibilities

  • Build warm, secure relationships with each infant through consistent, intentional caregiving
  • Execute daily routines — feeding, diapering, rest, and transitions — with care and precision
  • Plan sensory-rich experiences driven by each infant's interests, across all developmental domains: social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive
  • Scaffold activities as skills grow — adjusting materials and interactions to match each infant's developing abilities
  • Observe and document developmental milestones (ASQ & TSG)
  • Build genuine two-way partnerships with families — communicating daily about each child's milestones, activities, and development through Procare and Lillio
  • Maintain a safe, organized classroom compliant with OAC licensing and NAEYC standards
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development (min. 20 hours/year)
What We Require
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field — required
  • Must meet Ohio licensing requirements for the infant/toddler age group
  • Knowledge of infant development, attachment-based caregiving, and NAEYC standards
  • Strong communication skills and a coachable, growth-oriented mindset
  • The professionalism and reliability your team and families can count on every day
What We Offer
  • Competitive pay based on experience and credentials
  • Structured onboarding program and Mentor Educator Program
  • Standards of Excellence performance framework — you always know where you stand and what advancement looks like
  • 14 paid holidays, 8 days PTO, and a Monthly Health and Wellness Stipend
  • Paid weekly planning time and professional development
  • A culture that recognizes and rewards excellence
  • Real opportunities for growth, advancement, and promotion
The first year of life shapes everything that follows. If that weight means something to you — apply today.
