Description

Assigns and monitors work of associates to ensure production requirements are met. Ensures Safety, 4S and Quality standards are maintained. Performs adjustments to molding machines. Completes required documentation. Trains associates in machine processes and problem solving.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitors work of associates to ensure production requirements are met.
Holds daily shift meeting to communicate daily activities with Area Leaders.
Verifies that associates are adhering to Safety rules within department.
Verifies schedules are followed and communicates with Molding scheduler any issues with schedule.
Verifies all tool changeovers are complete as scheduled.
Ensures quality standards are met by auditing the operators work and PLEX monitors.
Monitors cleanliness of the worksite.
Performs product problem solving and corrective action.
Actively participates in Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities.
Works to ensure QMS/COR goals are attained.
Provides daily communication of activities to manager.
Takes ownership of problems and attempts to find resolution.
Performs processes and equipment adjustments when necessary.
Completes required forms, paperwork and data entry in a timely manner.
Trains and trouble shoots PLEX issues with Area Leaders.
Trains associates in machine processes and problem solving.
Notifies responsible departments on potential safety, quality and equipment issues to address the problem.
Monitors and tracks area performance to target.
Promotes positive working relationships with associates.
Needs to have the ability to react to changing conditions and environment. Be able to make decisions with little or no direction.
Effectively communicate to other shifts and/or departments to resolve Mfg. issues.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Coaches Area Leaders and operators to build positive work environment.
Repairs minor machine problems and tracks any repairs not able to perform.
Performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED TRAINING, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree or previous supervisory experience preferred.
2-4 years' experience in a manufacturing setting (Molding environment preferred).
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Knowledge of blueprints and SPC. Some computer experience helpful (preferably Microsoft Office).
Product knowledge or similar experience helpful.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
Factory environment with noise from manufacturing processes. Exposure to moving equipment, parts, and electrical shock. Also exposed to burns around die-castings and resins. Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
Daily lifts, carries, or moves objects - weighing up to 50 pounds.
