Job description

Citi is looking for an experienced Application Support Senior Analyst to join its Production Support team within Services Markets Banking Functions, delivering critical production support across Foreign Exchange (FX) trading applications that power global markets operations. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of mission-critical FX trading platforms used by traders and business stakeholders across the firm. Your technical expertise and analytical judgment will directly shape the reliability of systems that sit at the core of Citi's markets technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor FX trading applications across their full production lifecycle, ensuring stability, functionality, and adherence to service level expectations within the Securities, Markets & Banking Functions Production Support team.
  • Conduct start-of-day checks, same-day risk reconciliations, and regional system handovers to maintain uninterrupted trading operations.
  • Assess the risk and business impact of production incidents, escalating issues promptly to technology and business management teams in line with service level agreements.
  • Partner with development and production support teams to prioritize bug fixes, manage application releases, and perform post-implementation analysis.
  • Identify vulnerabilities, security risks, and environmental implications of technology changes, communicating impact clearly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements, and maintain contingency planning to ensure continued system availability for end users.
  • Act as a liaison between traders, internal technology teams, and third-party vendors, translating technical issues into clear, actionable communication for non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts, contributing to team capability and the continuous improvement of support processes, tooling, and documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in application support or production analyst roles within a financial services or trading technology environment.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux system administration, including navigation, scripting, and troubleshooting in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases, with the ability to query, diagnose, and resolve data-related production issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to configure, install, and maintain business-critical applications, with a willingness to learn additional programming languages as needed.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in plain language to traders and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, triage complex incidents, and deliver timely resolutions under pressure.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or equivalent IT service management and problem management platforms.
  • Exposure to FX or capital markets trading systems and an understanding of trade lifecycle workflows.
  • Experience using issue tracking tools and contributing to formal incident and problem management processes.
