As a Seasonal Horticultural Care Specialist at the Pittsburgh Zoo, you'll be at the heart of creating vibrant and lush landscapes that delight visitors and provide a beautiful habitat for our animals. Your green thumb and passion for plants will help transform the zoo into a botanical wonderland!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Blooming Artist: Install and nurture a variety of seasonal plants, flowers, and shrubs, adding bursts of color and life to the zoo.
  • Growth Guru: Apply fertilizers and nutrients to ensure our plants thrive and flourish, creating a lush environment.
  • Weeding Warrior: Tackle unwanted weeds to keep our gardens pristine and ensure our plants have the space to grow.
  • Mulching Maestro: Spread mulch to retain moisture and keep those pesky weeds at bay, ensuring our garden beds look their best.
  • Edging Expert: Perfectly edge walkways and flower beds, giving the zoo a polished and well-maintained appearance.
  • Pruning Pro: Prune and trim trees and bushes to encourage healthy growth and maintain the beauty of our landscapes.
  • Watering Wizard: Keep our plants hydrated and happy by providing them with the water they need to thrive.
