Out Patient Coder/PRN - Medical Records Out-Patient Coder
PRN position
This position will analyze and assign appropriate diagnosis/procedure codes in accordance with coding guidelines for all physician clinics.
Requires working with medical staff and others to obtain documentation to complete the medical records and ensure appropriate reimbursement. Assists with all outpatient audits from Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross and all other private insurance agencies.
Requirements: LPN, RHIT or RHIA, required. CCS preferred
Computer skills including general computer knowledge, coding software and other software as needed
Good interpersonal/communication skills
Ability to problem solve, organize tasks and set priorities
Hospital coding experience, coding certification preferred but not required
All other duties/skills and qualifications will be discussed at time of interview.
