Description

We are hiring a Principal-level Environmental Consultant to help lead and grow our LA office. The ideal candidate is a technical expert and practicing environmental professional who can build lasting client relationships, manage teams, and serve as a strategic leader in private-sector remediation projects. 


The Role

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and technical lead for clients in the private sector (developers, attorneys).
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities 
  •  Lead and mentor junior and mid-level staff.
  •  Oversee operations in collaboration with regional leadership.
  •  Provide direction on regulatory strategies and field execution.

Who are you

  • 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with an emphasis in remediation, due diligence, or site redevelopment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Track record of building and sustaining client relationships, with a proactive and consultative approach.
  • Deep technical knowledge in California regulatory frameworks (e.g., DTSC, RWQCB, LARWQCB) and private-sector project delivery.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to shape a regional office's success through client development and leadership.
  • Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative leadership style aligned with Terraphase's culture.
  •  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
