About Private Jet Center

Private Jet Center is a private aviation company headquartered in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, providing aircraft management, charter, and aviation support services. Since 2000, we've built a reputation for operational excellence, safety, and exceptional customer service. Our team values professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting both our employees and clients at the highest level.

Position Overview

Private Jet Center is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead our accounting and finance functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, overseeing payroll and compliance activities, and providing financial insights that support business growth and decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on finance leader who enjoys balancing day‑to‑day accounting operations with strategic planning and analysis. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of partnering with leadership to help drive the company's continued success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring reconciled accounts and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to protect company assets and support operational efficiency.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide analysis, recommendations, and insights to executive leadership.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary contact for auditors and financial reviewers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements are met.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and financial adjustments.
  • Prepare management reports, financial dashboards, and key performance indicators to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Partner with department leaders to provide financial guidance and support organizational objectives.
  • Manage and develop the accounting team through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing utilization of accounting and financial systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven experience overseeing financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, payroll, and internal controls.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax compliance, and accounting best practices.
  • Experience leading audits and partnering with executive leadership on financial planning and business decisions.
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems; experience with aviation industry software such as Total FBO is highly preferred. Experience leading accounting system implementations, upgrades, or conversions is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to leverage financial data for reporting and analysis.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to develop teams and build cross-functional relationships.
  • Aviation industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required background checks.
Why Join Private Jet Center?

As Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in the financial health and future direction of the organization. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with executive leadership, influence strategic business decisions, and help shape the continued growth of a respected and established aviation company.

Benefits
  • Paid vacation and sick time
