Private islands typically act as mini-resorts, and you work with guests to ensure an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Additional responsibilities include concierge services, valets, and tradespersons such as a plumber, carpenter, or electrician. You ensure the habitability of the entire island and structures. Duties also involve boat and vehicle maintenance, and specific jobs such as boat captain or mechanic are needed. To thrive as a Private Island Manager, you need expertise in hospitality management, operations oversight, and facilities maintenance, typically supported by a degree in hospitality or business management and relevant experience. Familiarity with property management systems, budgeting software, and health and safety regulations is crucial. These skills are essential for managing the unique challenges of remote island environments and delivering exceptional service for high-profile guests.
