Job description

Property: The Drew Hotel
Location: Plymouth, MA
Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly / Non-Exempt
Compensation: $26.00 - 30.14 per hour based on experience
About The Drew Hotel & Lark Hotels
Located in the historic, vibrant heart of Plymouth, Massachusetts, The Drew Hotel captures classic New England coastal charm and updates it with fresh, design-driven boutique luxury. As a proud member of the Lark Hotels portfolio, we believe travel should feel like a breath of fresh air.
We don't just clear rooms; we craft beautiful, spotless sanctuaries that offer warmth and happiness to our guests. If you are a naturally supportive, detail-oriented leader who shares our devotion to deep empathy, absolute integrity, and intentional excellence, we would love to have you lead our team.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Housekeeping Supervisor to serve as a cornerstone of our rooms division. This is a vital, hands-on supervisory role that keeps our property running smoothly, safely, and beautifully.
Working closely with the General Manager, you will help lead day-to-day operations-overseeing our Room Attendants, Public Area Cleaning team, Laundry Attendants, Housepersons, and Room Inspectors. From performing meticulous room quality checks to coaching team members and managing inventory, you will ensure our property always delivers a perfect "First Impression."
Join Our Launch Team: Pre-Opening & Onboarding Expectations As part of a newly opening hotel gearing up to welcome long-term guests, our initial months will be dynamic, fast-paced, and unique. Prior to and during the first few months of operation, all team members will be asked to perform essential pre-opening duties. These tasks will vary by role and may frequently extend outside the traditional scope of your main responsibilities-including deep cleaning post-construction, setting up brand-new rooms and operational spaces, organizing initial inventory, participating in extensive team training, and adjusting to shifting timelines. A high degree of flexibility, adaptability, and an "all-hands-on-deck" mindset are required as we build our foundation for success.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
  • Team Leadership & Support: Lead and manage the department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper. Train new hires, build morale, and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Immaculate Quality Control: Conduct daily detailed visual inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, ensuring linens, furnishings, electronics, and layouts perfectly match brand standards.
  • Operational Execution: Assist the team directly with cleaning and maintaining public areas and guest rooms when operational demands require, maintaining full physical agility.
  • Safety & Compliance: Oversee internal control of Master keys, provide critical safety orientations to team members, and ensure safe handling/mixing of cleaning solutions per OSHA and SDS standards.
  • Maintenance Partnership: Identify physical defects or room issues quickly, logging and tracking them through our digital work-order tracking system to ensure seamless resolution.

What We Look For (Requirements & Skills)
  • Experience: A High School diploma (or equivalent experience) paired with a minimum of six (6) months of prior experience in professional cleaning, environmental services, housekeeping leadership, or a hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays, based on hotel occupancy and seasonal demands.
  • Communication Style: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a positive, professional, and patient leadership style.
  • Tech Literacy: Proficiency with standard digital tools, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and digital maintenance/housekeeping software.
  • Physical Requirements: Work is performed in a multi-story hotel environment without elevator access. This position is highly active and physically demanding, requiring the ability to regularly climb and descend multiple flights of stairs throughout the day to inspect guest rooms and support the team across various floors and sections. Because daily room assignments fluctuate, navigating the stairs frequently between check-outs, stay-overs, and room refreshes is essential. Additionally, based on business demands and staffing needs, the Supervisor must be able to actively assist with or completely clean full guest rooms, which includes carrying a housekeeping caddy and supplies up and down stairs.
  • The role also requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, alongside moderate to frequent levels of physical agility and standard equipment operation. Extended workdays may occasionally be required to meet workload demands during peak seasonal occupancy periods.

Our Values
  • Integrity: We are honest, genuine, and transparent. We show up with humility and earn confidence through consistent, thoughtful follow-through.
  • Empathy: We lead with warmth, respect, and genuine care for others, enabling us to build authentic, trust-based relationships.
  • Excellence: We set high standards and strive for constant improvement. We embrace feedback, execute thoughtfully, and evolve intentionally.
