What it's about

Partners Group is seeking to hire an Investment Leader (Vice President) to join the Technology team. The Technology team consists of 15+ dedicated professionals in US.ย The Technology team invests in companies typically between $500 million - $2 billion in enterprise value. The team does both growth and buyout transactions and we are thematic in our sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Source, execute and lead direct investments in technology businesses in the Americas; this person must be scrappy and comfortable with finding investment themes and opportunities and not wait for a CIM to appear on his/her desk
  • Manage quantitative and qualitative due diligence, including oversight of team-members and third-party advisors
  • Develop and review valuation analyses, lead the preparation of investment memoranda for, and present opportunities in, Investment Committee meetings
  • Lead review and negotiations of legal transaction documentation (e.g., SPA, SHA, MIP, etc.), including coordination of support from internal and external legal advisors
  • Contribute to structuring and raising debt financing, together with Partners Group's Capital Markets team
  • Actively engage with management teams and the boards of portfolio companies,ย  including guiding the preparation of board materials and responsibility for certain post-closing value-creation initiatives
  • Develop exit strategy for portfolio companies and manage exit activities on a day to day basis (e.g., IPO or sell side process)
  • Manage relationships with key investment stakeholders, counterparties and partners
  • Recruit, lead and mentor junior transaction-professionals in and outside of investment processes
  • Contribute to Partners Group's client related activities (e.g., "pitches", updates, reporting, etc.)

What we expect

Pivotal Experience & Expertise

  • At leastย 6+ years of private equity experienceย with a focus on the technology vertical, typically preceded by 2-3 years of investment banking experience
  • Strong understanding of the technology landscape and top software categories, and deep understanding of the software and SAAS business, ecosytem and revenue models.
  • Strong existing relationships with intermediaries
  • Superior business judgment in holistically assessing investment opportunities - market trends, strategic dynamics, company performance and quality of management teams
  • Ability to "manage up and down" in coordinating investment processes, while ensuring high-quality execution
  • Have superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate and execute strategic initiatives;
  • Education and/or prior work experience in a technical discipline (computer science, data science) is a positive

Partners Group compensation has a long-term outlook and philosophy, and our total compensation emphasizes performance based long term incentives. Base pay range for this role is $250,000 - 275,000 and a performance-based bonus and equity are additional parts of the total compensation package.
