Overview
The Club General Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, financial performance, and member experience of the Club. This role oversees all Club operations, including Aquatics, Racquet Sports, Fitness, Club Front Desk, Membership, and Kids Club, ensuring exceptional
service, engaging programming, and a premier member experience. The Club General Manager partners closely with the Resort Managing Director and resort leadership team to ensure alignment between Club and Resort operations, deliver a seamless experience for members and resort guests, and support the overall success of the property.
Leadership & Operations
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all Club departments, including Aquatics, Racquet Sports, Fitness, Club Front Desk, Membership, and Kids Club.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Director of Club Operations and department leaders to ensure operational excellence and a culture of accountability.
  • Establish and maintain exceptional service standards that create memorable member and guest experiences.
  • Conduct regular inspections of Club facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, maintenance, presentation, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, brand standards, safety regulations, and operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement operational initiatives that enhance member satisfaction, increase utilization, and improve overall Club performance.

Member Experience
  • Foster a member-centric culture focused on personalized service, relationship building, and member retention.
  • Build strong relationships with members through regular interaction, visibility, and responsiveness.
  • Partner with Membership leadership to support membership growth, engagement, retention, and satisfaction initiatives.
  • Oversee Club programming, special events, and seasonal activities that enhance the value of Club membership.

Financial Management
  • Develop and manage the Club's annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance, labor expenses, operating costs, and departmental profitability while maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and maximize Club revenue.
  • Review financial results regularly and implement action plans to achieve budgeted goals.

People Leadership
  • Recruit, hire, coach, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, establish development plans, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture built on collaboration, accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, and talent development initiatives.

Resort Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with the Resort General Manager and Executive Leadership Team to align Club operations with the overall resort strategy.
  • Coordinate Club operations with Resort departments including Food & Beverage, Rooms, Engineering, Security, Recreation, Sales & Marketing, and Events to ensure a seamless luxury experience.
  • Support resort-wide initiatives, special events, and strategic projects that impact both Club members and resort guests.
  • Participate as an active member of the Resort Executive Committee, contributing to property-wide planning and decision-making.
  • Community & Brand Representation
  • Represent the Club professionally within the local community and industry organizations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with members, guests, business partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Champion the organization's culture, values, and commitment to service excellence.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular attendance and schedule flexibility based on business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Recreation Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in private club, country club, luxury resort club, hospitality, or recreation operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of private club and resort operations, member services, recreation programming, and hospitality leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse operational departments while maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and operational analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and executive leadership teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
