Job Details

The firm is seeking a driven Plaintiff Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney to manage a dedicated personal injury caseload. Working directly under the Partner, this role focuses primarily on pre-litigation advocacy, demand drafting, settlement negotiation, and high-touch client communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Litigation Management: Manage the full lifecycle of plaintiff personal injury files (95% PI, with light Workers' Compensation exposure) from intake through resolution.
  • Negotiation & Advocacy: Evaluate case merit, calculate damages, review medical records, draft demand letters, and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters.
  • Client Relations: Maintain compassionate, transparent communication with clients, delivering high-level service throughout their recovery process.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of 7 experienced paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient file movement.
  • Litigation Support: Provide occasional assistance on litigation matters when needed (depositions, motions, court appearances, or trial prep are a plus).
Candidate Qualifications
  • Education & Bar: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury pre-litigation experience (candidates up to 10 years will be considered).
  • Track Record: Demonstrated stability in past employment (a history of long-term tenure is required; job-hopping will not be considered).
  • Languages: Spanish language fluency is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional client service orientation, strong oral and written communication skills, and empathy for injured clients.
