Privacy Analyst Remote information

What does a privacy analyst do when working remotely?

A remote Privacy Analyst is responsible for ensuring that an organization’s data handling and privacy practices comply with relevant laws and regulations, such as GDPR or CCPA. They analyze data flows, assess privacy risks, and help implement policies to protect sensitive information. Working remotely, they conduct privacy impact assessments, respond to data subject requests, and collaborate with teams via digital communication tools. Their role is crucial in maintaining trust with clients and stakeholders by safeguarding personal data.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a privacy analyst remote, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Privacy Analyst (Remote), you need a solid understanding of data privacy laws, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks, typically supported by a degree in information security, law, or a related field. Familiarity with privacy management tools, data mapping software, and certifications such as CIPP or CIPM are commonly required. Strong analytical thinking, communication, and attention to detail help you interpret regulations and advise stakeholders effectively. These skills ensure organizations remain compliant, minimize data risks, and protect sensitive information in a dynamic digital landscape.

What are the main challenges a privacy analyst faces when working remotely, and how can they be managed?

As a remote Privacy Analyst, one of the main challenges is ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with legal, IT, and compliance teams, especially when handling sensitive data and compliance documentation. It's important to maintain strong digital organization skills and use secure collaboration tools to manage projects and respond to incidents promptly. Regular virtual meetings and clear documentation practices can help bridge gaps caused by remote work and maintain alignment across stakeholders. Additionally, staying up-to-date with evolving privacy regulations can be more challenging remotely, so proactively participating in online training and industry forums is beneficial.

Job description

Work with the Industry Leader

At Eon, our mission is to make patients healthier and healthcare affordable. Eon Patient Management, or EPM as we like to call it, identifies patients with disease risk and streamlines clinical decision analysis so clinicians can work at the top of their licenses. With unique solutions across multiple disease states, we drive unprecedented adherence to care pathways, so that more patients are seen and more survive. When patients win, healthcare systems win - both clinically and financially.

As a market leader in incidental tracking and patient management, Eon is pioneering the use of Artificial Intelligence to enable healthcare enterprises, ranging from small health systems to large, national-scale IDN's. We have a unique and dynamic team that is focused on results, and employment opportunities both local to our Denver office, and remote based.

The Opportunity

Eon is looking for an experienced Integration Engineer with a strong background in healthcare system integrations, specifically focused on deep Epic EHR integrations and navigating Epic vendor services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in .NET (C#), a solid understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR), and hands-on experience working within AWS-hosted environments to deliver robust, enterprise-level patient data pipelines.

As an Integration Engineer (Epic Integration Specialist) you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain deep integrations specifically with Epic EHR systems to ensure seamless, real-time data exchange and workflow interoperability.
  • Implement and optimize HL7, FHIR, and Epic-specific APIs to streamline healthcare data exchange standards across client environments.
  • Manage Epic Vendor Services, including configuring applications within the Epic App Market, collaborating with health systems' Epic Technical Services (TS) teams, and managing developer portal environments.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and QA teams to understand complex Epic integration requirements and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Build and manage APIs, Epic Interconnect, and middleware for secure, low-latency, and efficient data transfer between external systems and Eon platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, ensuring maximum uptime, system reliability, and peak performance.
  • Monitor and improve the scalability of existing Epic and multi-EHR integrations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with healthcare data privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Document technical specifications, integration workflows, and vendor service mappings for internal and client-facing engineering teams.
  • Apply data engineering principles to design and implement ETL pipelines for transforming and loading Epic-derived data into our analytics platforms.

You will be a good fit if you have:

  • Experience with microservices architecture within highly distributed environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation).
  • Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer).
  • Experience with modern data engineering tools and data pipeline frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills when untangling complex vendor workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for managing technical relationships with health system IT teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-energy, cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare system integrations, with a dedicated focus on deep Epic platform integration (e.g., Epic Bridges, Care Everywhere, Epic on FHIR) and navigating Epic vendor services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in .NET (C#) development.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying integration solutions in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with core AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, ECS).
  • Deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, CCD, and CDA.
  • Familiarity with database technologies, spanning both SQL and NoSQL environments.
  • Extensive experience working with RESTful and SOAP APIs for enterprise data exchange.
  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts such as ETL pipelines, data transformation, and data modeling.

"So what's in it for me," you ask?

We pride ourselves for being a culture-based company buzzing with high-energy. Aside from the enthusiastic environment, you'll enjoy:
