Job Summary:
Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments, is seeking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to add to our growing Logistics Technology team. The role involves building and supporting tools for managing inventory, order fulfillment, and distribution center operations, while also focusing on AI-powered features and team mentorship.
Responsibilities:
• Work with a diverse, expert team of engineers to build and support the front-end tools and back-end services we use to manage inventory, fulfill orders, and perform distribution center operations in a fast-moving environment.
• Build scalable, explainable, and well-vetted AI-powered features and models to drive new business capabilities
• Leverage AI development tools effectively and responsibly
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery while maintaining code-quality, security, and architectural integrity
• Review AI-generated code with the same rigor as human-authored code
• Build scalable, testable, and reusable code using open-source technologies
• Work with several communication protocols (HTTP, TCP, MQTT, Bluetooth) to facilitate interactions between connected devices like label printers, barcode scanners, conveyors, ...etc.
• Perform functions supporting all levels of the development lifecycle including scoping, development, testing, and managing release pipelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong experience with object-oriented languages (e.g., C#, Kotlin, Swift, PHP, Java,…)
• Expertise in a modern application development environment
• 5-7+ years of professional software development experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI coding assistants (i.e Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, etc.)
• Experience with native mobile development tools like Android Studio and/or XCode
• Experience reviewing and refining AI-generated code, including spotting hallucinated API's, subtle logic errors, security issues, and architectural drift
• Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol), agentic coding tools, or LLM-powered developer tooling
• Experience contributing to or shaping team-level AI adoption guidelines, governance, or evaluation frameworks
• Hands-on experience designing AI/ML features (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, evaluation harnesses)
• Fluency with Git or other version control software
