Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on Print Shop Manager to lead daily operations while actively working in production. This role is ideal for someone who can manage a team, maintain quality standards, and jump in to operate equipment to keep jobs moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily print shop operations and production workflow
- Actively operate equipment including large-format printers, vinyl cutters, and engraving machines
- Produce and assist with signage, banners, decals, and custom print jobs
- Manage, train, and support staff to ensure high-quality output
- Review print jobs for accuracy, design quality, and deadlines
- Maintain production schedules and prioritize incoming orders
- Communicate with customers regarding project details, proofs, and timelines
- Monitor inventory and order materials (vinyl, substrates, inks, etc.)
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance
- Ensure safety standards and shop organization are maintained
Qualifications:
- Experience in print production, sign shop operations, or related field
- Strong knowledge of large-format printing, vinyl applications, or similar processes
- Leadership experience with the ability to lead by example in a hands-on environment
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control
- Basic computer skills; experience with design or print software (Adobe Suite, RIP software) preferred
Preferred Experience:
- Large-format printing (banners, posters, signage)
- Vinyl cutting and installation
- DTF transfers or apparel printing
- Laser engraving or custom product production
