Production Manager
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift (Occasional Saturdays as needed)
Lead a High-Volume Production Operation
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily print, mail, bindery, and finishing operations within a fast-paced production environment. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining quality standards, managing staff, and ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in print production, team leadership, and process improvement, with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on operational support.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily production operations, including digital printing, wide-format printing, bindery, finishing, and mail processing.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 75+ employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and employee development.
• Ensure all work is produced to the highest quality standards while meeting customer deadlines and service expectations.
• Collaborate closely with customer service, mail services, data, and production teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Review production schedules, allocate resources, and adjust workflows as needed to meet changing priorities.
• Oversee purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment while managing vendor relationships and service providers.
• Recommend and implement process improvements, new equipment, technology upgrades, and operational efficiencies.
• Ensure proper documentation, work order completion, and reporting of additional billable production services.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of production management systems and other operational tools.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a print production environment in a supervisory or management role.
• At least 7 years of direct leadership experience managing production employees.
• Experience in print and mail operations, including USPS bulk mail processing.
• Knowledge of offset printing, digital printing, bindery operations, finishing equipment, and mail inserting/folding equipment.
• Understanding of color management principles.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience working with production equipment.
