Job Description

We are seeking a plant manager for our Guilford CT facility. This plant is an industry leader in flexible packaging and label printing and converting. It specializes in RFID enabled labels and other specialized pressure sensitive labels for a variety of industries including pharmaceutical.

The position will be responsible for all production activities and supervise all supervisory personnel, administrative staff and production employees.

Job Responsibilities

  • Has overall production responsibility for all plant operations.
  • Plans all production and operation schedules for the facility.
  • Supervises the following functions: raw materials; manufacturing; customer service; employee environment (i.e. facility maintenance, safety, etc.); and finished goods inventory and shipping.
  • Supervises internal plant employee relations, including staffing and training.
  • Prepares daily, weekly and monthly operational reports as required such as, material costs, waste, through-put per FTE, overhead costs, employee conduct, etc.
  • Monitors performance against production standards and budget and implements continuous process improvements.
  • Reviews quality assurance reports and programs concerning incoming raw materials and finished goods.
  • Assures that all aspects of operations are in conformance with regulatory agencies (such as EEOC, EPA, DOL, OSHA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures, especially those pertaining to safety, product quality, plant environmental compliance and security.
  • Trouble shoots production problems.
  • Oversees installation and start-up of new equipment.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years experience in manufacturing management, BA/BS and experience in printing and converting is a plus but not required. Other qualifications shall include the following:

High degree of tact and diplomacy in dealing with plant personnel and customers. Able to maintain confidentiality on all Company matters. Possesses administrative, financial, management, production and technical acumen to meet the business unit’s operating objectives and goals, including but not limited to, customer service, employee environment and performance, production efficiency and product quality. Strong background in latest quality assurance techniques and management. Experience in implementation and management of continuous process improvement programs. Familiar with various government regulations relating to labor and employment practices, environment and safety laws and their impact on operations. Command of business systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office, MRP and production and inventory control.
