Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Engineering Intern - 3D Printing for the Advanced Infrastructure Center. The Engineering Intern - 3D Printing will support the ongoing research initiatives funded by the New Jersey Transit Corporation, focusing on digital manufacturing for advanced transportation infrastructure systems. Participate directly with faculty and professional staff engaged in digital fabrication, advanced materials, and next-generation infrastructure technologies
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Assists with reverse engineering using 3D scanning and basic measurements.
  • Supports CAD modeling and preparation of files for 3D printing.
  • Helps operate 3D printers and monitor print jobs.
  • Performs basic post-processing (cleaning, sanding, assembly).
  • Assists with form and fit testing of printed parts.
  • Helps organize files in the digital inventory system.
