Job description

Position Overview

As an Industrial Account Manager at Crescent Electric, you will create and maintain long‑term business relationships with customers on behalf of Crescent Electric. You will be responsible for reaching sales and gross margin goals, which includes prospecting and soliciting orders, identifying customer needs, and proposing solutions and appropriate products and services to meet those needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete a business plan for assigned accounts in the company’s CRM tool.
  • Develop sustainable sales and profit volume in assigned territory.
  • Make in‑person sales calls to prospective customers and current customer establishments.
  • Introduce and demonstrate new products.
  • Assist industrial customers by pricing bills of material.
  • Utilize a conservative sales approach to sell products and services, offer add‑on and up‑sell products that may benefit the customer, and suggest alternative products when a requested product is not available.
  • Cultivate and maintain solid, long‑term relationships with industrial customers and suppliers.
  • Assist and resolve customer requests and/or problems promptly and professionally.
  • Keep customers informed about relevant company and vendor policies.
  • Communicate competitive conditions, observed customer financial weakness, and customer feedback to management.
  • Cooperate with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales calls.
  • Execute sales effort ethically and professionally to reflect favorably on the company.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
  • Previous knowledge of wholesale electrical distribution industry and industrial sales experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25% of the time (including overnight stays).
  • Comprehensive computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and against deadlines.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills; self‑starter; detail oriented; strong verbal and written communication.
Physical Demands
  • Often standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
  • Occasional sitting, talking/hearing.
  • Use of hands/fingers frequently.
  • Occasional reaching, twisting, bending or kneeling.
  • Use of phone, computer, printer, keyboard.
  • Continuous lifting and carrying 1-20 lbs; frequent 21-50 lbs; occasional 51-100 lbs; assistance advised.
  • Vision requirements for driving: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception.
