To thrive in a Print On Demand role, you need a solid understanding of digital printing processes, graphic design principles, and order management, often supported by experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with print production platforms. Knowledge of e-commerce systems, Print On Demand marketplaces, and basic product fulfillment tools is typically required. Strong attention to detail, effective customer communication, and problem-solving abilities are key soft skills for this position. These competencies ensure high-quality product output, efficient workflow management, and excellent customer satisfaction in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What are some common challenges faced by Print On Demand professionals?

Professionals in Print On Demand often encounter challenges such as managing multiple orders simultaneously, ensuring artwork files meet quality and printing specifications, and handling customer requests for customizations or quick turnarounds. Balancing high product quality with tight deadlines can require excellent organization and time management skills. Job description

Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to support the Print on Demand (POD) books business. It is an exciting opportunity to be a strategic finance partner in an innovative and rapidly evolving part of the manufacturing and publishing industry.
We're looking for exceptional people with solid financial knowledge and analytical skills. People who love books (and numbers), who can think critically, and who will use their financial acumen to help drive our POD business team to think about the future in meeting needs for authors and publishers both on Amazon and off.
You will work cross-functionally and cross-geographies with our business teams acting partly as a controller as well as a strategic partner for a business that focuses on both manufacturing, fulfillment and retail excellence

Your main responsibility will be supporting the fulfillment roadmap for the WW business in the innovative ways we are trying to help authors and publishers source and fulfill customer orders everywhere they want to sell. Get ready to challenge assumptions and drive change within this large yet nimble business.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
(1) act as the key strategic finance partner working with our WW product team on business cases exploring new fulfillment initiatives for the books we manufacture. You will help guide the strategic vision, supporting financial analyses as needed, and influencing the establishment of metrics that hold the business accountable to its goals.
(2) connect with local operations finance teams as well as central Amazon finance teams to fully understand the economics of fulfilling books through various channels

(3) Think Big on where the indie and traditional publishing industry is going and how can Amazon improve it's offering to best serve authors and readers anywhere they want to sell books.
(4) be responsible for monthly controllership and financial reporting mechanisms for aspects of the POD business.
This will require you to Earn Trust and partner with cross-functional teams, influence ways in which data is reported (Insist on Highest Standards), perform NPV analyses, and own the development of our own financial metrics.
A day in the life
The role will require someone who is able to deal with ambiguity-finding ways in which to add value without always being given specific direction. You must be motivated to make a big impact and have the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. You will have to make tradeoff decisions as to when direct finance support is needed vs

when to establish self-service frameworks that the business team can use. This role also has regular interaction with senior executives and various stakeholders across Amazon, and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and multicultural environment. Above all, we seek an analytical problem solver with the ability to fulfil the Amazon motto to "Work Hard

Have Fun. Make History".
