Job description

We are searching for a full-time Technical Project Manager who will help us deliver and deploy our AI-based autonomous industrial robotic solutions into customer hands.

As a Technical Project Manager you will be an integral part of generating and maintaining development timelines across multiple projects. You will work closely with Engineering to make sure we are meeting our internal objectives and external deliverables. With input from Product and Solutions, you will develop and communicate ambitious project plans to ensure our development teams deliver within scope and on time.

At OSARO we develop solutions to endow industrial robots with the level of autonomy needed to perform an unprecedented variety of complex pick and place tasks leveraging sophisticated robot control and neural network-based perception algorithms. We value candidates who are passionate about what they build, feel a strong sense of ownership over their work, and love being continually challenged.  You are someone who cares deeply about your team so you are both direct and believe in doing what you say.
What You'll be Doing
  • Assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Developing detailed technical project plans and monitoring, tracking, documenting decisions, and communicating progress across teams.
  • Facilitating breakdown of work (asking questions, making sure right voices are heard, managing resource dependencies, coordinating and scheduling project tasks, divvying up responsibilities to internal groups).
  • Being a conduit for information by facilitating back and forth with the Product & Engineering teams.
  • Coordinating resource availability for the flawless execution of projects and to meet customer deployment timelines.
  • Advising on and handling risk and issue management, exposing dependencies and blockers.
  • Implementing and managing change when necessary to meet project outputs.
  • External communication and coordination with contractors.
  • Light travel - 10%.
Experience and Skills You'll Need
  • Technical background and expertise
  • 5+ years experience in technical project planning and management for both hardware and software projects.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with both internal and external parties.  You realize the best way to manage projects is through the people.
  • Experience acting as a scrum master, facilitating sprint planning, and ensuring outcomes meet acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to use multiple methodologies (such as agile and waterfall) to manage teams with varying development cycles and priorities.
  • Understanding of how various technical pieces come together in complex, multi-disciplinary technical projects.
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient use of RACI charts, JIRA, and other project management software to help drive progress.
  • Endless curiosity and openness to learning from others.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Bonus if You Have
  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in technical project management with a start up.
$155,000 - $175,000 a year
Actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, and experience. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits and equity.
