Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is searching for a Technical Program Manager to join their Production Engineering team in Sparks, Nevada. This team owns the engineering work that keeps our production lines running and takes them to full rate. In this role, you will run the programs that move production from where it is today to where it needs to be on throughput, yield, uptime, and cost, working with process, mechanical, electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineers to scope the work, sequence it around production windows, and get it installed, qualified, and handed to operations. You will report status, flag schedule risk early, and build the recovery plan when a program slips. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities will include:
* Own the program plan for production engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and acceptance criteria, keeping it current on milestones, deliverables, and percent complete, and managing scope changes through approval
* Drive throughput, yield, uptime, and cost-per-unit improvement programs from problem definition through qualification and handoff to operations
* Sequence engineering work around production and planned outage windows with operations and maintenance
* Run the commissioning and qualification path for new and modified equipment, including factory and site acceptance testing, safety review, and operational readiness
* Coordinate across process, mechanical, electrical, controls, quality, environment, health and safety, supply chain, and operations to close dependencies and unblock the team
* Track and report program status, key metrics, and dashboards for site and executive review, surfacing risks early and escalating delays with options rather than problems
REQUIREMENTS:
Desired Qualifications:
* 2-4 years of program or project management experience in a manufacturing, process, or heavy industrial environment
* Track record delivering production ramp, capacity expansion, or continuous improvement programs inside an operating plant
* Able to read piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications, and hold a technical conversation with the engineers doing the work
* Experience running commissioning, qualification, or operational readiness for production equipment
* Proficiency with Jira, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to present to internal and external executives, and the ability to hold multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment
* A Passion for sustainability and making the world a better place
