Job description

Principal Product Manager
Location: Hybrid or Office-Based - Philadelphia, PA.
Bentley is creating an open platform for the built and natural environment to empower software developers to build digital twin experiences. We believe in advancing the platform for the collective success of the ecosystem and equipping the software developer community with open source and open standards. Our work has broad reach ranging from the world's largest construction companies to the US government to FOX Sports on NFL SUNDAY. Cesium has more than 10,000,000 lifetime open-source downloads, and the Cesium ion cloud reaches more than 20,000 monthly active developers.
We're looking for a Principal Product Manager in Bentley's Platform team dedicated to being a liaison and advocate for Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC) building deeply collaborative and iterative relationships built on authenticity, trust, and mutual success. This role will be the glue between Platform's low-level broad-use APIs and the BIC as the data platform for design, build, and operate of infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
  • One part Product Management and one-part Technical Business Development. You will be the bridge between Platform and Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, bringing experts across Product Management and Engineering to the table to solve problems addressing customer's needs.
  • You will bridge domain-specific requirements from Infrastructure Cloud with Platform technology and priorities.
  • Ride closely with the Infrastructure Clouds team, deeply understanding their objectives, needs, motivations, and constraints to enable you to create value for them. You will translate these to actionable Platform product requirements.
  • Provide input on segmentation of capabilities between Platform and first-party products by evaluating its potential for broad third-party adoption and whether it fits appropriately in the deeper layers of Bentley's tech stack.
  • Facilitate alignment for a diverging set of inputs and people to converge on strong bought-in decisions that benefit Bentley and our customers.
  • Traditional product management for Platform's products and services that closely align with Infrastructure Cloud.
  • Promote a culture of openness, collaboration, authenticity, and transparency.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of product management or business development experience, preferably working on highly technical software projects in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry or similar domains.
  • A strong track record of driving significant and sustained long-term customer or partner success.
  • Credible to a world-class engineering team. You are tech savvy and understand the business impact of our technology.
  • You obsess over priorities, creating impact, and constantly test them against customer needs, strategy, and objectives.
  • You lead through influence by guiding stakeholders toward shared outcomes without relying on organizational hierarchy or positional power.
  • Fantastic communication skills and interpersonal savvy. You can communicate with executive leadership as well as you can with engineers.
  • This role will require frequent travel and time zone management as part of a global team.

What We Offer:
  • A great Team and culture - please see our colleague video.
  • An exciting career as an integral part of a world-leading software company providing solutions for architecture, engineering, and construction - watch this short documentary about how we got our start.
  • An attractive salary and benefits package.
