We’re looking for Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, engaging in a dynamic team environment, and are eager to learn.

As a Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineer, you will work on a close-knit team to create advanced, physics-based modeling solutions in the DoD Space. You will develop key technologies in the EO/IR/RF domain to help engineers grasp the most complex aspects of energy transport, enabling the design and test of tomorrow’s artificial intelligence algorithms and hardware solutions. You will deploy cutting-edge technologies, leverage your software development skills and collaborate with your Signal and Sensor Modeling peers.  This is an Onsite role in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do

  • You will champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
  • You will develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
  • You will deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics principles in a software implementation.
  • You will enable our customer’s success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
  • You will work efficiently inside an established software product, across programming languages, and build environments.
  • You will research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
  • You will coordinate with multiple development teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
  • You will mentor and share EO or RF expertise with your team.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience applying object-oriented software design in C++, C, and using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux or Apple OS or Windows DOS command line
  • Experience in electro-optics or in radar processing, Imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing and/or discrimination algorithms
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
  • Experience with OpenGL, CUDA, or other GPU accelerated languages/architectures and Scene Generation/Sensor Modeling technologies
  • Experience with electronic warfare modeling, developing signal processing algorithms for missile applications, signal & image processing, digital communications, or estimation theory, or AI/ML and training techniques
  • Experience with Real-time Programming, software change management tools and processes, using and augmenting Build Systems (Make/CMake), and working with large production software environment
  • Experience interfacing with adjacent engineering disciplines (Signal Processing, Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering)

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
