About the Job
MedStar Medical Group is currently seeking pediatric hospitalist physicians to join our team in Full-time, Part-time, and PRN positions for our amazing program at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital, just outside Washington, DC. Our pediatric hospitalists will have responsibility for providing high-quality medical care to pediatric patients admitted in our newborn nurseries, and ER consults.
MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital, in Clinton, Maryland, is a 250-bed full-service acute care and 24-bed sub-acute care facility with approximately 65,000 emergency room visits and approximately 19,000 admissions each year. Our pediatric hospitalists cover the special care nursery (Level II NICU).
Located in Prince George's County, the town of Clinton offers excellent, well-funded public schools and universities. The metro subway system offers multiple free activities such as museums, art galleries, festivals, and the National Zoo. New York City, Philadelphia, and Richmond, VA are just a few hours drive away. Residents also enjoy the convenience of two major airports, Dulles International and Reagan National nearby.
The ideal candidate will hold current Maryland licensure/eligibility and be BC/BE in pediatrics. Recent pediatric hospitalist experience and skills in neonatal resuscitation following the current NRP guidelines, including intubation and line placement, management of general pediatric disorders, and stabilization prior to transport are required. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with a wide array of professionals are essential. Several shift opportunities are available.
