Join Our Mobile Crisis Response Team

iMind Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate, dependable, and recovery-oriented Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) serving Prince George's County, Maryland.

As a CPRS, you will work alongside licensed clinicians to provide immediate, community-based crisis intervention and recovery support to children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing mental health and substance use crises. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping individuals remain safely in their communities whenever possible.

We are hiring for the following shifts:

7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday)

Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.


What You'll Do

As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, you will:

  • Respond in the community with a licensed clinician to behavioral health crisis calls.
  • Build trust and engage individuals using a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed approach.
  • Support crisis de-escalation through active listening, encouragement, and evidence-based peer support techniques.
  • Share hope and recovery through the appropriate use of lived experience.
  • Assist individuals and families in developing coping strategies and wellness plans.
  • Connect participants with behavioral health treatment, housing, food resources, transportation, support groups, benefits, and other community services.
  • Encourage ongoing engagement in treatment and recovery services.
  • Participate in follow-up contacts to support stabilization after a crisis.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, supervisors, care coordinators, hospitals, first responders, and community partners.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and comply with HIPAA, agency policies, and Mobile Crisis Response protocols.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification in good standing
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations
  • Basic computer skills and experience documenting services electronically
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Successful completion of background check and required onboarding requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in:
    • Mobile Crisis Response
    • Crisis Stabilization
    • Community Behavioral Health
    • Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs (PRP)
    • Mobile Treatment Services (MTS)
    • Emergency or Crisis Services
  • Knowledge of behavioral health resources throughout Prince George's County
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (preferred but not required)
