We have a client relationship group dedicated to overseeing service performance and strategic partnerships with top tier clients, where we play a key role in supporting global clients to ensure they have a first‑class experience when doing business with Citi.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Prime Margin professional to join the Margin, Collateral & Optimisation team within Markets Operations, as a Senior Vice President with responsibility as the global head of Prime Brokerage Margin Operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Prime Margin Operations, within a peer US registered broker‑dealer, with subject‑matter experience across margin methodologies, regulatory frameworks, operational processes and associated controls. The candidate will also possess strong experience of Prime Brokerage product offerings and bring deep front‑to‑back Prime Margin experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to operate across Product, Risk, Operations, Technology, Legal, and Compliance partners.

This position plays a critical role in governing operational processes, ensuring regulatory adherence, supporting strategic platform development, and facilitating safe, scalable client growth.

Key Responsibilities Margin Governance & Oversight
  • Lead the Prime Brokerage Margin Operations capability. Operate as a senior point‑person, for the group with deep margin subject matter expertise, with knowledge of end‑to‑end flows, risk, and regulations. Drive functional transformation, implementing best‑in‑class margin and collateral organization and capabilities
  • Provide SME leadership on Reg T, Portfolio Margin (PM), FINRA rules, SEC 15c3‑1/3 requirements, and operational implications for Prime Brokerage Margin
  • Partner with the Prime Product Development and In‑Business‑Risk to refine and validate margin calculations and identify opportunities for enhancements or automation
  • Drive Strategy and Transformation and set operational and technical vision for a global function, aligning execution with long‑term business strategy and firm priorities. Design and govern future‑ready operating models, tools, and frameworks that enable scalable, efficient, and resilient delivery
  • Operate as critical decision‑maker for operational execution across functions and geographies, balancing scale, complexity, and long‑term impact
  • Implement and oversee strong risk management and control capabilities for margin and collateral management operations
  • Operate as a global service lead, working in close partnership with key business, technology and operations partners and key stakeholders in 1st and 2nd line
  • Ensure products and/or services are well designed: ensure developments are in line with the target operating model and design standards, through close partnerships with other Margin & Collateral Operations leadership
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources

Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in in financial services with specific experience leading global Prime Brokerage margin functions. Demonstrate a strong appreciation of Prime margin processes, regulations, securities products, practices, and risks, and/or product/service design, execution and delivery of large strategic change programmes. Preferably at large financial services firm
  • Expert knowledge of US regulatory frameworks, especially:
    • Reg T
    • Portfolio Margin (PM) rules
    • FINRA margin requirements
    • SEC 15c3‑1 / 15c3‑3 considerations
    • US listed derivatives margin rules (CME/OCC)
  • End‑to‑end knowledge of margin and/or collateral optimization, including the impacts on liquidity, capital, financial reporting, books and records and securities and margin & collateral practices and infrastructure. Demonstrate understanding of a end‑to‑end margin and collateral control framework and standards
  • Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise demonstrated success interacting with senior business, operations, technology, internal stakeholders and regulators. Experience articulating broad strategies to senior stakeholders, driving broad‑based and high impact implementations
  • Innovative, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology
  • Thinks logically and is good at problem solving. Result orientated
  • Able to write clearly and concisely. To present ideas and proposals to senior decision makers without technical jargon
