Prime Brokerage Middle Office Trade Support Team

Role Description:

  • Cash Prime Brokerage middle office expert required to help restart the business in NY
  • The prime broker middle office role acts as a crucial link between the front office (sales and trading) and the back office (settlements and operations) at Nomura. The core function of the prime broker middle office is to manage and control the operational risk associated with prime brokerage activities and ensure smooth and accurate transaction processing for hedge fund clients and other institutional investors.ย 
  • Ensuring the complete lifecycle of client transactions, including trade capture, affirmation, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation, runs smoothly.
  • Working to resolve trade breaks, discrepancies, and settlement exceptions, often coordinating with other internal teams like settlements, margin, and various broker-dealers involved in the transaction.
  • Managing cash movements and ensuring accurate cash reconciliation for clients.ย 
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for clients for operational inquiries and problem resolution, particularly related to asset servicing, corporate actions, and transaction processing.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure their operational needs are met and to foster positive client experiences.
  • Providing clients with information and expertise on various prime brokerage services and potentially advising on complex processing issues.
  • Monitoring and controlling risks associated with prime brokerage activities, including trade processing, settlement, and corporate actions.
  • Understanding and adhering to internal and external regulatory requirements and control frameworks.
  • Escalating potential risk issues to senior management when necessary.ย 
  • Handling and reviewing corporate action queries and elections, including dividends, principal and interest, mandatory events, voluntary events, proxies, and tax implications.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and clients to ensure timely and accurate completion of corporate actions, including elections and documentation.ย 
  • Working collaboratively with different departments within the firm, such as sales, trading, settlements, technology, and risk management.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • 4+ years in Prime Brokerage Middle Office role
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably Mathematics, Finance or any related field)
  • Caph PB experience at another large bank
  • High level of proficiency with Excel
  • High level of client service provided to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and effectively prioritize workload
  • Eager to learn and wants to working in a fast paced environment
