Location: Mission Hospital

Address: 509 Biltmore Ave, Asheville NC 28801

Floor: A3 West

Building: Mission Campus

General Information

Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds – 38

Number of Staff – see below

Type of staff:

  • Day Shift – 1 charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 1 LPN, 3 PCTs, 1 unit secretary
  • Night Shift – 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 LPN, 2-3 PCTs, HUC for part of the shift

Patient Ratios – 6:1, Goal is for charge nurse to be out of staffing to assist. Night stretch ratios is 7:1.

Type of equipment – Baxter IV pumps, Wound vacs, SCDS, prima-fits, primo-fits

EMR – Cerner Powerchart

Skill Set Most recruited for:

Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

Medical/surgical nursing experience

Telemetry

Preferred or nice to have:

candidates with these skills will be considered first.

Charge nurse experience

List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Peripheral IV starts

Dressing changes

Other standard medical surgical skills

BLS

Floating Area(s): Other medical surgical units, ED holding medical/surgical patients.

Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire – all navy, all white, or white top and navy pants, navy or white undershirts if needed.

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Travelers float before permanent staff.

Weekends and On call (if any) Weekends: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule.
