Job description

In our industry, it's all about relationships and educating our clients. We are a solution-based and consultative selling team, matching our client's needs with the right segment of our engineering community.
As an Account Executive, you will play a critical role in building and nurturing relationships with prospects and clients through consultative and solution-based selling. Using active leads generated from industry events, conferences, trade shows, events, publications and other digital deployments, you will engage clients and prospects with targeted outreach-making 40 to 55 unscripted calls daily-to develop customized advertising campaigns that meet their needs. You will maintain ongoing client relationships, identify evolving opportunities, and accurately document sales activities in our CRM system. This role demands strong interpersonal skills, persistence, and a passion for helping clients succeed by connecting them with the right solutions from our engineering community. Occasional travel to trade shows and client sites supports this goal.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Build relationships with prospects and clients by establishing rapport and applying consultative selling techniques to create advertising campaigns.
  • Work from a list of active leads generated from companies advertising and exhibiting their technology at industry events.
  • Make 40-55 targeted phone calls daily to build relationships and help clients and prospects secure leads for their companies (calls are not scripted).
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing clients and proactively identify their evolving needs.
  • Accurately report and record all sales activities in a web-based CRM system.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • One year of experience in B2B sales, advertising, marketing, or communications preferred (or equivalent business acumen through education or work experience).
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business or a related discipline.
  • Ability to travel to and attend trade shows, as needed.
  • Confident and comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls.
  • Determined and driven to succeed with a strong belief in the value of consistent effort.
  • Persistent, disciplined, and well-prepared in following a structured call schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form meaningful connections by being genuine, empathic, and curious.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in marketing, communications, fundraising experience

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is on-site only and based in our Denville, New Jersey office. Remote work is not available for this role.
  • Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Professional office environment with frequent phone and computer use.
  • Extended periods of sitting, speaking on the phone, and working at a computer workstation are required.
  • Frequent in-person collaboration with colleagues, managers, and team members in an open office setting.
  • Occasional travel (-5%) to client sites, trade shows, or industry events; travel may include overnight stays.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting/standing) for extended periods.
    • Must be able to operate a computer and telephone on a daily basis.
  • Fast-paced, goal-driven, and team-oriented work culture with regular performance expectations, coaching, and training support.
