PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Salary to be commensurate with experience
The hiring range for this position is $81,800.00- $102,250.00/annually

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
TheYouth Violence Program Administrator, under the direction of the Intervention Programs Division Manager, oversees the youth violence prevention program to provide services to juveniles who are at-risk, or high-risk, and their families. They will coordinate with multiple community-based organizations, governmental agencies, and law enforcement agencies in these efforts.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, develop, implement, document, and manage strategies, goals, policies, procedures, and performance measures for the youth violence prevention program.
Collaborate with city departments, community mental health agencies, community-based organizations, and school districts to ensure coordination among juvenile system agencies and the youth violence prevention programregardingat-risk juveniles.
Build andmaintainrelationships with community members, school administrators, and partnering agencies, and attend various meetings with each group.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience thatdemonstratesthe requiredknowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, Social Work, ora directly relatedfield
Independently adapting, interpreting, and applying written guidelines,precedentsand standardized work practices to a variety of unprecedented and problematic situations
Establish andmaintaineffective working relationships with various groups, including, but not limited to, City departments, community-based organizations, groups, and citizens.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by thecity, all City of Aurora employees maybe requiredto work as essential personnel.
This position may require regular use of personal equipment (e.g., vehicle, cell phone, other tools)duringemployment.
The city of Aurora will implement furlough days (unpaid days off) for most employees in 2026. The scheduled furlough dates are January 16, April 10, July 2, and December 24.
