What does the MaintenanceDirector do?

In the Maintenance Directorrole, you will be providing maintenance services to the building, apartments,equipment, and grounds of our assisted living community. In this job, everyday, you will.
1. Assist in delivering preventivemaintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.
2. Perform repairs under the supervision of the Executive Director and within the area of expertise, including mechanical, electrical,plumbing, carpentry, and painting, according to accepted codes.
3. Arrange for and manage contract repairs,maintenance, and other construction services to care center/community.
4. Monitors and record building and watertemperatures and adjusts to meet regulations and safety codes.
5. Ensure strict adherence to community fire safetyand hazardous chemical procedures, promptly address all unsafe conditions orequipment problems.
6. Perform floor care on an ongoing basis,including carpeting in resident apartments and common areas of the community.
7. Oversees and guides the work of the MaintenanceAssistant, if applicable.
8. Remove trash gathered by housekeepers andcaregivers on a daily basis.
9. Maintain grounds in a professional, well-groomedmanner by performing grounds maintenance on a regular basis or working with alandscape company to maintain grounds in an appropriate manner.
Education & Experienceyou need to qualify:
You will need a Vocational or Trade School degree ingeneral maintenance or three years of experience in carpentry, electrical orpainting work. Experience with budgets helpful. A valid drivers' license andaccess to a private vehicle for business use.

Located at 695 Orchard Heights Road NW in Salem, Oregon, Prestige Senior Living - Orchard Heights has 61 apartments of assisted living, as well as 18 units. Our community is right off of Wallace Road in West Salem, so it's near all sorts of services and more. Our community itself is beautiful - tons of ambient light, tall ceilings, and a clean community.
