STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for Mold Press Operator Trainee (2nd shift) to join the team.ย  This position is responsible for the operation of presses to mold and cure rubber on manufactured assemblies.ย 

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate: Red & Brown Rubber Mill, Extruder, Molding Press, and Oil Molding Press
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, method sheets, process sheets, policies and procedures to manufacture a variety of rigid and flexible metal tubes.
  • Measures angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, thread lead, wall thickness, and other specifications. Performs a variety of quality tests per procedures.
  • Inspect products for surface defects and flaws
  • Set-up and operate heated presses to mold and cure rubber
  • Regulate molding temperature, volume, pressure, and time
  • Installs dies and plates on machine according to work order specifications, using clamps, bolts, and hand-tools
  • Moves mold to press
  • Sprays inner surface of mold with lubricant to prevent rubber from sticking
  • Positions preform rubber, half-shells, or cores in mold cavities or on lower die places upper die over rubber
  • May insert metal parts in mold cavities to join with rubber during process
  • Load and remove mold from press
  • Tears flash ring from edge of workpieces.
  • Removes rind from molds, using air hose and/or steel wool.
  • Position and secure assembled mold and mold components
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.ย 
  • Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications

Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations:ย High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
