Below, you'll find other important information about this position.The President is responsible for the functioning of a clinically successful and financially strong critical access hospitals, from the development of a philosophy and direction to the attainment of specific objectives. Responsible for hospital-wide strategic planning and goal development. The President will work collaboratively with the System Medical Group (SMG), the designated practice plan for employed physicians, to lead physician recruitment. The President will also build strong physician relationships, implement physician development plans, and manage any joint ventures. The President will work collaboratively to improve/enhance operational management and performance, focusing on areas of growth strategy, patient safety, employee and physician engagement, market growth and financial performance. The President will initiate, foster and sustain external relations/activities that establish trust, respect and support the hospital's patients. As an active leader in the community, the President/CEO will sustain and continue to build the hospitals reputation for excellence and will strive to ensure effective performance and achievement of goals while fulfilling the organization's mission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's in Business or Health Administration

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five - ten years' experience in hospital and healthcare administration with a particular focus on financial and operational matters.

1. Master's degree or Post graduate degree.

1. In collaboration with the Board and other management, the President is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the daily operations of the organization.

2. Establishes current and long-range goals, objectives, plans and policies.

3. Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans, standards and procedures, consistent with established policies and appropriate approvals.

4. In conjunction with management members, ensure that operations are executed in accordance with the organization's policies and that organizations decisions and actions are properly interpreted and implemented.

5. Provide oversight of the organization's financial structure to ensure the soundness of the System's financial future.

6. Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.

7. Establish and promote effective communications between the System and all stakeholders.

8. Represents the organization with major customers, community members, legislators, stakeholders, and the public.

9. Development of effective medical staff relationships throughout the Hospital.

10. Establishment of appropriate patient satisfaction, quality and financial/cost performance improvement objectives and ensuring that plans are developed and implemented relative to such objectives.

11. Recruitment and development of effective members of leadership and ensuring the development of an effective and cohesive leadership team.

12. Effective communication with the Board of Directors, leadership, physicians and staff and serving as an advocate for the Hospital and WV University Health System.
