Job description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of our tool manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will lead production, scheduling, supply chain, quality assurance, facilities maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness across the facility. This role plays a key part in delivering high-performance manufacturing of hand tools, power tools, or industrial tools that meet industry standards and customer expectations.

** Annual Salary will be determined by years of relevant experience.

Essential Key Outcomes & Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Oversee daily assembly and distribution operations, ensuring timely production and adherence to quality standards.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, process efficiency, and equipment utilization.
  • Responsible for labor utilization and effectiveness
  • Maintain ERP System Effectiveness
  • Promote positive interaction with customers

Operational Strategy

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to support company goals.
  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks to optimize throughput and reduce downtime.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team including supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
  • Ensure proper staffing, training, and development plans are in place for all operational roles
  • Attend leadership meeting

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and other relevant manufacturing and safety standards.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain product quality and reduce defects or rework.
  • Participate in NCMR Process

Supply Chain & Inventory

  • Work closely with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement cost-effective inventory management practices.

Maintenance & Safety

  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimize machine downtime.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to health & safety protocols.

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Prepare and manage operational budgets and KPIs, capital expenses and revenue
  • Generate and present regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to quote production oversight
  • Oversee job costing

Education, Qualifications, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the tool or metalworking industry.
  • Proven experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, forging, casting, or assembly.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and manufacturing software (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
