The Preschool Director must be kind, patient and loving, as she spends the majority of her days working with young children. She must be a strong leader, with the ability to manage a diverse group of children and staff. It’s important that she is an effective communicator, as she’ll be interacting with both parents and children on a daily basis. She must be skilled at CPR, first aid and other routine emergency treatments. It’s also imperative that she is very organized, detail-oriented, trustworthy and responsible. Most importantly, she must have strong knowledge of Office of Licensing guidelines, including those for Covid-19.
Front Office Responsibilities
The Preschool Director has a variety of front office responsibilities, including managing staff, working with parents and interacting with children. She is tasked with hiring new staff, providing training, and constantly monitoring staff members to ensure they’re accurately performing assigned duties and responsibilities. It’s her job to stay in touch with parents, making herself readily available to listen to their comments and concerns, and keeping them informed on new developments.
Back Office Responsibilities
The Preschool Director is also tasked with a number of necessary behind-the-scenes duties to keep the center running smoothly. She must constantly monitor the facility, ensuring that it is a safe and healthy place for children, and adhere to proper state codes. It’s also essential that she makes sure all children have proper paperwork on file. She works to keep enrollment at the center up by responding to parent inquiries, giving tours, hosting open houses, advertising and any other applicable marketing initiatives. The Preschool will work directly with the Owner/Sponsor.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to Child Growth and Development; or Teaching Certification from the Department of Education (Required)
Experience:
- Leadership: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
