Job Description
The University of Missouri Athletics Department is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Ticket Sales.
Reporting directly to the Associate AD - Ticket Operations & Sales, this individual will be responsible for driving ticket revenue through outbound sales, account management, and strategic engagement initiatives. This position supports departmental revenue goals by cultivating new business, strengthening relationships with existing ticket holders, and contributing to premium seating, group sales, and donor pipeline development. The role also assists with staff development, sales strategy execution, and cross-departmental collaboration to enhance the overall fan experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Outbound Ticket Sales and Revenue Generation (35%)
• Generate ticket revenue through proactive outbound sales efforts, including phone calls, emails, virtual appointments, and in-person meetings.
• Focus on season tickets, partial plans, premium seating, and group ticket opportunities across assigned sports.
2. Account Management and Customer Retention (20%)
• Manage and service a portfolio of ticket accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Build long-term relationships with ticket holders to encourage renewals, upgrades, and cross-selling opportunities.
3. Sales Strategy and Campaign Execution (15%)
• Assist in the development and execution of ticket sales campaigns, promotional initiatives, and pricing strategies.
• Utilize CRM systems and sales data to track performance, identify trends, and optimize outreach efforts.
4. Group Sales, Premium Seating, and Special Events (10%)
• Coordinate group ticket sales, premium seating prospects, and hospitality experiences.
• Support game-day sales efforts, special events, and on-site activations designed to increase attendance and revenue.
5. Staff Leadership and Mentorship (10%)
• Support the training, mentoring, and daily oversight of entry-level ticket sales staff or interns.
• Share best practices, assist with onboarding, and help reinforce a competitive, team-oriented sales culture.
6. Collaboration and Administrative Support (10%)
• Work closely with marketing, development, operations, and external relations to align ticket sales initiatives with broader departmental goals.
• Assist with reporting, budgeting support, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Sports and Events Sales Experience is preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $17.50 -$23.85 / hour
