• Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with clients to create a safe therapeutic environment.
• Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop tailored treatment plans that address the specific needs and circumstances of each patient.
• Provide individual, couples, and family counseling sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic practices to facilitate healing and growth.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes and ensure alignment with therapeutic goals.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and social workers, to provide integrative care and refer clients to specialists when needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in marriage and family therapy.

You will work with a diverse client population, including individuals and families from various backgrounds experiencing a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and trauma. Your focus will be on empowering clients through effective communication and therapeutic techniques, aiming to create sustainable positive change in their lives.

• A valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York.
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated training or experience in addiction counseling is preferred.
• Strong understanding and application of evidence-based practices for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to build rapport and motivate clients.

• Previous experience in a community health setting or similar environment focused on mental health care.
• Experience in therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Family Systems Therapy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
