Wine & Beer Sales Representatives are responsible for achieving monthly and annual sales objectives, selling our current portfolio and new products, and general territory and account management responsibilities, including but not limited to, product placement, building displays, maintaining appropriate stock levels (inventory management), and maintaining cold boxes.
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Setting a daily pre plan to achieve distribution and sales goals.
  • Make sales calls on current accounts, and identify potential new customers when possible.
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to store owners, buyers, and specialty consultants.
  • Keep consistent records of sales calls and document follow-up opportunities for future visits.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and suggest margin and gross profit opportunities that will benefit the retailer.
  • Achieve sales distribution, volume, and priority goals in alignment with distributor and supplier agreements.
  • Ensure brands are displayed in high visibility locations within accounts in accordance with brand display standards.
  • Stock displays and shelves (where permissible by law).
  • Educate account personnel on new and existing products within the portfolio.
  • Schedule in-store promotions, including tastings, demos, and staff training.
  • Coordinate special deliveries, including off-delivery day shipments, new accounts openings, account closings, and special events.
  • Maintain relationships and conduct key account calls and sales blitzes with supplier partners.
  • Attend general sales meetings and supplier sponsored events, as needed.
  • Abide by company conduct policy, including but not limited to, keeping a professional appearance, maintaining a safe working environment, and following company procedures and regulations.
  • Attend training seminars and workshops, as required by management.
A qualified candidate should meet most, if not all, of the following criteria:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. College education + 2 years of prior sales experience preferred.
  • A general understanding and interest of wine, beer, and spirits.
  • A desire to build lasting relationships with buyers and account owners.
  • Be familiar with current technology and programs Apple devices (iPad), Google and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be a driven and results oriented professional with excellent verbal and written skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excel in an unsupervised environment and deliver positive sales results, meet deadlines, work independently but also as a team, when applicable.
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid NC drivers license.
  • The sales position requires the use of a personal vehicle.
  • Sufficiently pass a criminal background check to obtain a wholesale ABC permit.
  • Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Pass a physical and drug screening.
