Job description

Job Overview
The Program Manager for Flow Analytics (PMFA) is accountable for the strategic direction, governance, and ongoing evolution of enterprise analytics supporting patient flow and throughput across the health system. This role ensures that system-level analytics enable executive, clinical, and operational leaders to understand performance, make informed decisions, and drive improvements in patient access, capacity, and throughput. The PMFA owns the analytic vision for patient flow across the system and provides oversight for system-facing reporting assets and datasets, primarily-but not exclusively-delivered through Power BI. Analytics may also be delivered through Epic or other platforms when those tools best meet clinical, operational, or workflow needs. While the role maintains accountability for these assets, it does not function as the primary report developer. Instead, the PMFA guides analytic design, defines requirements, validates logic, and ensures high-quality delivery through collaboration with analytics teams and technical partners. Working closely with executive leadership, strategic partners, and internal subject matter experts, the PMFA translates operational and clinical questions into clearly defined, governed metrics aligned with organizational priorities. This is a high-visibility, individual contributor role with direct accountability to executive leadership. The PMFA serves as a trusted analytics advisor, engaging in front-facing, consultative work to shape performance questions, ensure analytic accuracy and trust through validation against Epic and other source systems, interpret results, and deliver outputs that are consistent, actionable, and aligned around a shared understanding of flow performance.
Responsibilities
  • Leads discussions with care teams and leadership to design analytic reports using electronic medical record data, claims, and other data sources.
  • Acts as an expert in defining requirements, data validation, and supervision of report development to support enterprise analytics, statistics, predictive modeling and external data submissions.
  • Work directly and independently with the Analysts, Data Modelers and/or ETL Developers to create meaningful and actionable content for the enterprise.
  • Analyzes, visualizes, and models data to provide insight and actionable recommendations independently.
  • Partner with data scientists, operational teams, and researchers to develop and implement algorithms for performing predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Applies appropriate tests to analytical results to provide high quality and accurate results.
  • Leads the review process of data sent to external vendors by Fairview. Includes working directly with the external vendors to understand the business rules applicable to the data extracts.
  • Utilizes expertise when researching and reviewing benchmarking data for comparison, validation, and utilization. Identifies areas for greatest opportunity for intervention.
  • Creates concise, board-level written narrative summaries that outline project purpose, methodology, summary of findings, trends of interest, and opportunities for consideration.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with key business leaders, project team members and senior leaders across the enterprise.
  • Manage the identification and standardization of key measurement that drive enhanced patient flow.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. Business, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • 4 years experience in healthcare analytics
  • Reporting and data analytic experience with clinical data including EHR clinical data expertise
  • Experience participating in the peer review processes and can foster technical learning across the teams through mentoring and coaching
  • Extensive experience in leading teams or complex projects
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience with SQL, EHR, ERP systems and applications along with Microsoft products (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to build partnerships and collaborate with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with project flow management, business analysis, as well as specific skills directly aligned with patient flow
  • Other welcomed qualifications include strong advanced analytics skills, biostatistics background, computing expertise, data analytics methodological expertise, and a demonstrable history of inter-professional collaboration
  • Power BI experience.
  • Preferred MBA.
