Job description

Job Title: Shaft Installation Technician

Division: Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI)

Location: Pella, IA - On-site

Shift: 1st

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Grade: 1

Job Status: Full-Time

Travel Required: 0-5%

Revision Date: February 7, 2022

Reports To: Production Supervisor


PURPOSE OF POSITION

To mount shafts into pulleys according to company and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the person will:

  • Mount shafts into pulleys
  • Skid pulleys
  • Apply Cosmoline to shafts
  • Conduct a general inspection of pulley and shaft
  • Assure parts and components are properly mounted into pulleys according to company and customer specifications.
  • Use and understand various paperwork, including but not limited to, schedules, prints, & technical standards
  • Perform routine housekeeping and maintenance
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job
  • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area
  • Demonstrate regular, consistent attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient use of math skills
  • Ability to accurately utilize measuring devices.
  • Have basic ability to read and understand blueprints and/or order specifications.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems using training, experience, and reasoning skills

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED);
  • or one to three months related experience and/or training;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.


TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES

  • Forklift license
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
