Autocam builds high‑performance precision components for demanding applications. As part of NN, Inc.’s global network of 23 manufacturing sites and 3,200+ employees, we pair inventive thinking with advanced machining to help customers win on quality, delivery, and cost.

A day in this role

You orchestrate the movement of materials so production never stops. Your morning might start by checking OTIF and transit time dashboards, aligning inbound receipts with level-loaded production schedules, and releasing shipments in QAD. By midday, you’re walking the warehouse to fine‑tune layout and labor plans, reviewing international paperwork for accuracy, and aligning with customs brokers and freight forwarders. You wrap the day optimizing visual management systems, closing out KPIs, and coaching the shipping/receiving team on updated SOPs.

What you’ll driveLogistics Operations
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage inbound, outbound, and intercompany logistics activities across modes for domestic and international moves.
  • Ensure on‑time, accurate delivery of raw materials and finished goods; lead shipping and receiving operations.
  • Enter customer and internal orders into QAD with precise pricing and data integrity.
  • Create, document, and enforce logistics SOPs; champion best practices to lift performance.
  • Track and improve KPIs such as OTIF, transit time, and freight efficiency.
Warehouse Operations
  • Oversee internal and 3PL operations: receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, recycling, wash & pack, and inventory control.
  • Optimize layout, space utilization, and labor productivity while meeting safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Manage and improve KPIs for productivity, accuracy, and material damage.
  • Lead best practices to maximize departmental efficiency.
  • Own raw materials, finished goods, and consignment inventory at customer locations, ensuring accuracy, pricing, and product receiving.
International Trade & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international shipping and trade regulations, including USMCA.
  • Prepare and manage hazardous waste manifests per regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee and verify accuracy of international shipping documentation.
  • Support IMDS reporting and compliance and maintain chemical traceability records.
  • Manage customs brokers, freight forwarders, and international logistics providers.
  • Oversee import/export documentation preparation and support trade audits.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Partner with the Compliance and Sustainability Manager to align with environmental, regulatory, and trade requirements.
  • Collaborate with tooling contractors and internal teams to ensure logistics support and material readiness.
  • Assist and coordinate Material Planning and Production (MPP) activities to prepare for planning meetings.
  • Support Purchasing with packaging and logistics functions.
Financial & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and manage logistics and inventory budgets.
  • Assist with carrier sourcing and contract negotiations.
  • Identify and implement cost reductions and process improvements using continuous improvement methodologies.
Systems & Reporting
  • Utilize ERP (QAD) to manage logistics and inventory activities; safeguard master data accuracy.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Optimize a production control function that provides level schedules to manufacturing areas.
  • Enhance visual systems that signal schedule status and work with customers and manufacturing to reduce demand and production variability, enabling lower safety stock.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Supervise and develop logistics and inventory team members.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Finance, Quality, and Customer Service.
  • Support new product introductions, site expansions, and network changes.
What you bringRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of logistics and inventory management experience within manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and transportation management.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated success managing vendors, budgets, and operational KPIs.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building charts and formulas.
Preferred
  • Experience with QAD ERP.
  • Knowledge of ITAR, CTPAT, and Free Trade Zones.
  • Background managing outsourced production and coordinating supplier logistics timing and product movement.
