SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Digital Printing Press Operator to join our team. As a Digital Printing Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining digital printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. Your expertise in managing printing processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the timely completion of print jobs will be critical to our success. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.


JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE

  • Operate and maintain digital printing equipment, including printers, scanners, and finishing equipment, to produce high-quality printed materials.
  • Set up and calibrate printing equipment according to job specifications, ensuring accurate color matching and print quality.
  • Review and interpret job orders, ensuring all specifications, such as media type, size, and finishing requirements, are      properly followed.
  • Load and position printing materials, such as print media and ink into the equipment, adjusting settings as necessary for      optimal performance.
  • Monitor print jobs to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to customer requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on printing equipment, including cleaning, replacing parts, and troubleshooting minor      issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems that may arise during the printing process, such as print media jams, printer errors, or image      distortions, implementing appropriate solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the pre-press team to ensure accurate file preparation, including file format conversions, image adjustments,  and color corrections.
  • Maintain inventory of printing supplies, such as corrugated stock, ink, and consumables, and initiate timely reordering to prevent      production delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of print jobs, including production quantities, print settings, and any quality control      measurements, ensuring proper documentation for future reference.
  • Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in printing or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a digital printing press operator or a similar role, demonstrating competence in operating and      troubleshooting digital printing equipment.
  • Proficiency in using digital printing software and tools, including RIP software and color management systems.
  • Solid understanding of printing processes, including file preparation, color calibration, and print finishing techniques.
  • Strong technical skills to identify and resolve printing equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in printed materials.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple print jobs with varying deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other team members, such as pre-press technicians and print      finishers.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy printing materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing production demands.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand for long periods and go up step ladders. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. The employee must be able to perform repetitive motions and must have strong finger dexterity

Work environment is manufacturing. High noise level environment. Employee works around powered industrial trucks, heavy objects, conveyor systems, and machines including highly energized systems such as pneumatic and electrical. Employee works with chemicals, high heat items, and sharp objects. Employee uses pneumatic systems including air and water hoses. Must be able to adapt to changing work environment

Pre-Employment Verifications: Must pass background and reference checks, drug screen, and physical examination prior to employment.
